At a time when food prices keep rising and social inequalities are deepening, food banks play a key role. Our bank is more than an organisation – it is a bridge between surplus and shortage, between waste and help for those who need it most.

Who we help

Families with children make up a significant share of our clients. Pensioners on minimum pensions often choose between medicines and food. We also help working people on low incomes, students, citizens with disabilities and people who have found themselves in a sudden crisis.

How we obtain food

We are building a broad network of partnerships. Retail chains pass us food with an approaching use-by date that can no longer be sold but is still safe to eat. Producers give us production surpluses and products with minor cosmetic flaws. Farmers donate crops that do not meet commercial appearance standards but are of good quality and nutritional value.

Safety and quality come first

Every item we hand out goes through a quality check. We have modern storage facilities with chilling and freezing equipment. Our record system tracks every item from intake to hand-over on the first in, first out principle.
